    Just got back from my run. Wanted to get 4 miles in. Winded up only going around my neighborhood once. (1.81 miles). My calves were just on fire & hard as rocks. Such a disappointment. How am I supposed to do 9 miles at the end of October ?? I don’t know what to do about my calves. Any suggestions?

    Are you streching that out after each run? That helps me a lot. Are you running in new shoes? Could be your shoes as well. how long have you been running for? Maybe your pushing yourself too hard.

    This has happened to me as well.Try streaching during your run when this happens and then start to walk.Have tried a cold bath at the end of your long runs? it does the job for me.Good luck with your run.

    TENNIS BALL or foam roller will do the trick. Sit on floor with legs in front of you. Place the ball or roller under your calf and lift yourself off the ground with your hands at your side (for pressure). Roll the ball/roller under your calf - and STOP at the most painful points and HOLD under the pain starts to subside.
