Hi Ladies: I was reading the advice column regarding the Mom with the sore neck who thinks it is exercise related. It could be, but I found that it was nursing/feeding my baby that caused the painful neck. I always looked down at them and held them with my arms. A nursing pillow/feeding pillow works better and once I paid attention to my form with feeding/carrying the baby the neck pain disappeared. I've had 4 nine pound babies and they can do a job on your neck/back. I have been pain free with this 4th one and it took me that long to figure it out.

i finf boobs in general to be a pain in the neck! and a costly one at that! :-)
Yes, nursing and carrying babies are an obvious source of back and neck pain - but if the pain increases when you get back to running or radiates to new areas, like shoulders, it is most likely due to posture pushing the jogger.
I know I still have to do a ton of neck, shoulder, back stretches before/after pushing the jogger still 1 year later (after both kids). Anything over 5 miles and the pain increases.
Of course, it could also be a strain from either carrying, sleeping funny, or pushing the baby. Lots of things to consider here.
Yes, I had the sore neck from nursing with both babies and it lasted for a year until they were nursing less. It also resulted in carpal tunnel pain... but not acutal carpal tunnel syndrome. Stretching (supposedly 3 times daily) the neck really helped.
